ignoring board posts ..

I know this suggestion has been made before, however I would like to suggest it with a slightly different idea ... if you ignore a user, they are also unable to then send you emails, and you do not see any quicknotes they send. would it also then be possible to not see any board posts they make? and I'm talking about topics that user initiates, as opposed to discussions they contribute to, as I realize cutting someone's points out of the middle of a discussion could cause that discussion to be disjointed. The reason I am suggesting this is more to do with the presence of our ever busy friend who appears to have nothing better to do with its time than to flood the message boards with junk. If by putting that user on ignore, the messages were then not visible either, we as a community, wouldn't have to see the floodings that have occurred on the boards, and that would give J and the CL's more time to clear up the mess and they would get less grief from the other users when it perhaps wasn't possible to illiminate the problem straight away .. just a thought.

good idea I'd endorse anything that removes this bampot from the site..

Good idea, however it wouldn't prevent the flooding of messages since the user, when he (I'd have to assume it's a male) manages to slip through will choose a new user name each time and since it can't be predicted peple can't put him on ignore before he does his damage. However it might be possible tohave a button or link with every discussion saying "ignore all discussions posted by this user" so that you'd only have to see one discussion posted by that user and ignore all others yourself.
I'm not sure, I thnkk more universal solutions might be better but if they won't work this would be a good idea.
Something like what I suggested earlier to only allow a maximum number of new dicussions to be initiated per 24 hours (per user) or maximum number of board posts to be made, set it to 15 or 20 except for premium members, high enough so that the average board poster is not at all affected but it would help eliminate such extreme flooding.
Cheers

I honestly don't know how easy this will be to institute. I mean, this may take a lot of coding since you want certain things blocked, but other things visible like their posts on other topics. I'll have to talk to the admins about this, and see if it can even be done, or...if they might know how to do it. We'll keep you all updated.

Well and good.

this whole block board posts is weird. it only makes it hard to get to the next user. Why don't people just like skip the user if they don't want to see what they have to say instead of putting the ignore feature on the boards.
